I decided that at the end of each month in 2021, I’m going to post the breakdown of how much I made doing each side hustle/cashback app. My complete side hustle list can be found here and my complete list of Smartphone Apps can be found here.
I know some of you are curious about how much I make doing all of the hustles that I wrote about, and while I do a year-end update, I know some of you don’t wanna wait till the end of the year and that’s understandable.
Some of the side hustles I do frequently, like using the Fetch Rewards App every time I go shopping.
Some of the hustles are more passive but have cumulative rewards so even though I do them each month, I may not receive a payout each month. It doesn’t make them any less valuable to me, they just take a longer amount of time to earn the reward. Honestly, those are fairly low-time investments, so I don’t feel bad that they take a long time to earn a payout. SBKC and Achievement are two of these.
And some I do in fits and starts. For example, I may not spend a lot of time doing PaidViewPoint surveys for a few weeks, and then I’ll get two or three emails telling me that I have time-sensitive or higher-paying surveys. Then I’ll rush over to the site and do five or 10 surveys and earn five or 10 bucks. It just depends on what’s available at the time.
Some of you might notice from this list that there are a number of research studies, I’ve been trying to do at least 1-2 a month because they tend to pay a lot better than surveys. I have been posting research studies and opportunities on the blog whenever they come across my email. I hope some of you are also applying for them and receiving opportunities to do them too.
August was busy with back-to-school stuff, so I didn’t have time for any research studies, which are usually a large part of the money I make each month. I have been doing a lot of reviews and such but don’t pay cash, but rather pay in-kind (Tryit, Influenster, Social Nature, and BzzAgent). Each one of those sends a product or samples. In August, I received a new mattress valued at over $500, a new juicer, and skincare valued at $100, all in exchange for a review!
I try not to take the sample only offers because it’s not worth my time to review a bunch of sample size stuff. Especially when I can be working with brands and companies that offer me products that are full-size, or they pay me with cash. Because really, as nice as say five dollar tube of deodorant might be, I can’t really pay my utility bill with it.

Q-insights is another company that I do research groups, focus groups, and online surveys to earn extra money.
They have a lot of stuff in South Orange County, and less often San Diego County. These days they are doing most of their studies online via chat or online surveys.
Right now Q-Insights is currently recruiting for an online study on the topic of Education.
Q-Insights is looking for males and females ages 22-45 for an upcoming multi-part survey.
The survey would have the following parts:
September 8 – You will need to complete a short survey and two online assessments that will take up to 2.5 hours. These can be done at your own time but must be completed on September 8th.
September 9 – You will be asked to complete another online survey and assessment that will take up to 2 hours. Again, this can be completed at your own time but must be completed on September 9th.
September 15-20 – Then between September 15th and 20th you will be sent a follow-up email with your results of the assessments and a survey about your experience, which should take no longer than 30 minutes.
If qualified and invited to participate, you will receive $375 for participating in the above 3 parts. Some participants may be asked to participate in an online interview or focus group between September 10th-16th for additional $125-$150 compensation.

They are looking for males and females ages 20-65 for an upcoming webcam interview for owners of 2020 and 2021 cars listed at the bottom of this email. They are not taking any other vehicles. You will need to provide proof of vehicle ownership to participate.
The survey would be 1 hour long and would be held on August 26th or 27th.
The survey pays $125.

I received this info in my inbox this morning and I had to share it. Most of you know that I love PaidViewPoint and that it’s one of the best survey companies around (at least in my opinion). They just got better.
PaidViewPoint members have been asking for lower cash-out limits, and PaidViewPoint has listened!
Your initial cash-out threshold will remain the same for security purposes. You must use PayPal, and you must have earned a minimum of $15.00. Once you have completed your first cash out, your second cash out threshold will only be $10.00! After that, you’ll be able to cash out every time you earn $5.00!
I’ve been a member for 4-ish years, and I do a couple surveys each week. Each Survey you are sent you are pre-qualified for. That means that you won’t spend 20 minutes doing a survey only to be told, “Sorry, we don’t need you!” and you don’t get paid. PaidViewPoint surveys vary in bounty/amount earned, starting at .10 and working up to $5 (I got a $5 survey last week- they are rare, but definitely worth it!).
You will receive an email when they have surveys for you, but I check my PaidViewPoint account a few times a week to see if there are any available, just in case I miss emails from them.

This is a brand new study- I got this email earlier this evening, and I have to share it. I’ve never done a study with this company before, but it looks super fun!
Open to: San Diego Residents – Local to Oceanside (20 miles)
This will be a unique study where the discussion will take place at 2 different restaurants. The interviewer will meet you at the restaurant. It will be a fun discussion, but you will be asked to taste alcoholic beverage for the purpose of research.
Due to this, they are asking that you travel to the 1st restaurant using a ride-share or dropped off by a friend or family member. From restaurant 1 to restaurant 2 they will have you ride as a team via bus and you are required to Uber home following restaurant 2. In addition to the incentive, meals, drinks, and any paid ride service (bus, uber) will be paid for also. They will ask you to invite two friends also. All of you must be willing to consume alcoholic beverages. Each of you will be paid $150.00 for your time and insights.
